MY WORK

Theatre Making in the last 5 years

Pier To Pier, The House Project & The Sun That Casts No Shadows. The Brighton Theatre Lab and RAPT

Associate artist on the development of Pier to Pier with RAPT . Pier to Pier is a public art and sound installation played from a fixed audio bench positioned along the edge of the South Coast. I built up a strong working relationship with Lisa Peck from back in 2013, Working as a committed ensemble member of The Brighton Lab, developing ensemble theatre techniques into devising and performing  successful shows for the Brighton Fringe Festival.

A Dream Play (Manchester Fringe Festival)

A site responsive devised and adapted version of A Dream Play by Strindberg. A year's project where I created an ensemble of performers, working alongside the outstanding writer Rachel Conner, who wrote as we experimented and devised with the ensemble. We were very proud to gain a Manchester Fringe Award from 'Most Innovative Use of Space'.

Fewer Emergencies (Northern Tour) Proper Job Theatre Company

This northern tour was a result of 2 and a half years'  of biomechanics training with the The Director, Chloe Whitehead. A unique and interesting journey into the world of biomechanics into performance.

The Bear Pit (Bath and Edinburgh)

A devised piece working over a 6 month period as an ensemble member with Elvin Theatre Company. The piece was inspired by research into homeless communities living in in central Bristol and the spice epidemic they are currently living through in these communities  in the UK.

MY WORK

 The Performers' Playground

As an actor and theatre maker, I continue to dedicate time for continued training and development. Most recently, I trained with the Performers' Playground, over a four month period that was delayed and extended due to the pandemic. During my work with this innovative company,  I developed ideas on playfulness, clowning, mask work and eventually gained an understanding of Virtual Reality performance. I will always be grateful for continued training in my practice as I feel that is what makes me current. and alive as a performer.

Past Work

Starting at the young age of 16 with The Library Theatre Company, I have continued to grow . I have had many tours including working for Tall Stories, touring Twinkle Twonkle, Theatre Active, devising and improvising in issue-based forum theatre; also The Royal Exchange on 'What Every Woman Knows.  I trained at RADA, where I gained an MA Theatre Lab, and East 15 Drama School, from where I obtained a BA in acting.

What I want from future development

I want to continue to be a professional in this hard stretched industry and continue my 20 year journey, as I believe it offers change and transformation for everyone who shares these experiences, be they participants or audiences. I want to stay open to collaborative working and discovering new skills as well and sharing mine as much as I can.
